Dongfeng continues on its course of adding industry experience and globally diverse team members,announcing that David O'Dell has joined its executive ranks.
Mr. O'Dell will serve as the President's Assistant for Aftermarket Development for the remainder of the year. He will work closely with Vice Chairman Zeng to develop the global aftermarket strategy for Dongfeng. Mr. O'Dell is enthusiastic about the dealer's opportunities for growth in the aftermarket sales.
Like many of the company's global hires, Mr. O'Dell brings to Dongfeng more than 34 years of experience in the machinery industry. He joined Dongfeng from NACCO, the parent company of Hyster and Yale brands of material handling equipment. At NACCO,he most recently served as Vice President of Aftermarket and Customer Service.In addition to NACCO,O'Dell has worked for other construction equipment companies including Komatsu,JCB and OmniQuip Textron.
"Developing the aftermarket can be a lucrative profit center for our dealers,"Mr.O'Dell explained."The aftermarket includes parts support in addition to the capability and availability to service all the machines a customer has, not just Dongfeng machines.Components such as industrial batteries,hoses,belts,filters and tires are needed for all of the customer's equipment. We want to position our Dongfeng dealers as a partner who supports their customers with a broad offering of parts and service, making them have high value for the customers."
