If you're a Dongfeng dealer in Brazil, there's no better word in the Portuguese language than "Vendido!"
In early June during the M&T tradeshow in Sao Paulo, Dongfeng dealers got to post "sold"signs on eight of the nine machines shown at its booth. Dongfeng wheel loaders and excavators were well accepted among customers who thronged to the booth each day of the show. M&T, the largest machine show in Latin America, was an unqualified success for Dongfeng and its network of dealers.
Dealers from nine countries helped staff the booth and visit with customers. The Dongfeng team wrote and closed contracts and President and Vice Chairman Mr. Zeng and Latin American President Jim Donoghue visited with customers and attended interviews with regional and international publications.
"Brazil is a very important market for Dongfeng," noted Donoghue. "China is now Brazil’s largest trading partner, so there is a high interest and a positive reception to Dongfeng in Brazil."
The Latin American news and trade media took interest in Dongfeng as well. More than 85 print and digital press kits were distributed to reporters and editors, and Dongfeng dealers and executives participated in scores of one-on-one interviews. President and Vice Chairman Zeng, at a planned press conference held at the booth during the second day of the show, formally announced the formation of the Dongfeng Latin America regional office, while Jim Donoghue announced plans for the Dongfeng parts depot to be established in Brazil.
By the end of the show, Dongfeng had collected more than 800 sales leads, which upon analysis, yielded about 100 high-potential leads.
