ConExpo Sets New Benchmarks for Dongfeng

The Las Vega ConExpo construction equipment show in March set new benchmarks for success for Dongfeng, company executives reported. Dongfeng management, as well as customers, noted the expansive booth, overall show presence and impact made for the best appearance at a tradeshow ever for the company.

“We could not have been more pleased with our results and the incredible effort by our entire team to make this show a success,” reported Jim Donoghue, Chairman of the Board, Dongfeng North America and Vice Chairman for Dongfeng Latin America.

He noted Dongfeng’s location this year in an inside hall next to top competitors such as Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu and John Deere, helped tremendously. The premiere booth location was also a first for Dongfeng – the result of several years of hard work and negotiation by Dongfeng senior executives to gain recognition for the company’s leadership position.

“People checked out the competition, and then they checked out Dongfeng. You could not miss us. We took advantage of that and made a favorable impression,”Donoghue noted.

During the show, there was no pause for anyone. The sales staff was constantly busy, while executives visited with customers, vendors, dealers and the news media during every hour of the show. Donoghue reported more than 500 sales leads coming from 25 countries from the show. Nearly every one of the 14 machines on the exhibit floor was sold by the end of the
show.

“We talked to many dealer prospects,” said Donoghue. “We received lots of positive comments from customers, current and prospective dealers about the professional look and feel of the Dongfeng booth. Our investment clearly was a good decision as we are now getting more interest from high quality dealers in our brand.”

Because many of the press will use information on Dongfeng throughout the year, all results are not yet measured. But during the show, Dongfeng was featured on the front and back cover of the show daily magazine reaching 190,000 at the show and worldwide; CNBC aired a primetime business story on Chinese construction equipment companies – with the lead companying being Dongfeng.

In addition, for the first time ever, Dongfeng was heavily visited by financial analysts and financial researchers. Over the past year, Dongfeng has gained interest as an investment for worldwide investment houses. These included USB, Goldman Sachs & Co., Merrill Lynch, Barclay’s Capital and the Piedmont International Group.

Jim Donoghue offered his appreciation for all the support the North American group received for ConExpo.
